Film & Video Production
Led by Founder and Artistic Director Millisia White, the New Orleans Society of Dance serves as a trusted resource for producers, directors, and creative teams seeking authentic New Orleans cultural representation in film, television, commercial, documentary, and live-event productions. Our services include cultural consulting, dance talent casting, choreography, movement direction, performance coordination, and production support.
Selected credits include National Geographic's Secrets of New Orleans, Vue Orleans, the History Channel's ROOTS, and other regional, national, and international media projects.
Entertainment and Promotions
The Baby Doll Ladies™, the signature ensemble of the New Orleans Society of Dance, are celebrated for presenting vibrant cultural performances rooted in the historic Baby Doll masking tradition of New Orleans. Combining chant, dance, theatrical storytelling, and audience engagement, the ensemble delivers unforgettable experiences for concerts, festivals, corporate events, conferences, and cultural celebrations.
Beyond our signature productions, NOSD offers professional cultural performers, hosts, and specialty entertainers capable of enhancing a broad range of creative concepts and event activations.
Artist Development
The New Orleans Society of Dance provides artist development services designed to cultivate the skills, stage presence, and professional readiness of emerging and established recording artists, performers, and creative professionals.
Through a collaborative network of choreographers, directors, cultural practitioners, producers, educators, and entertainment industry professionals, NOSD helps artists refine their performance abilities while developing compelling live entertainment experiences. Services may include performance coaching, movement training, stage direction, creative consultation, ensemble development, and master performance production.
Whether preparing for a concert, festival, tour, showcase, media appearance, or special engagement, NOSD works alongside artists to conceptualize, develop, and execute memorable solo and group performances that elevate artistic vision and audience impact.
K-12 Programs
The New Orleans Society of Dance offers educational assemblies, artist residencies, and movement-based learning experiences that connect students to the rich cultural heritage of New Orleans while fostering creativity, confidence, teamwork, and leadership.
Through the history and living traditions of Baby Doll masking, students explore cultural preservation, artistic expression, performance, and community engagement in an interactive and memorable format. Programs are designed to be age-appropriate, culturally enriching, and adaptable to the unique needs of schools, youth-serving organizations, and community programs.
Educational offerings may be aligned with Louisiana Department of Education standards and support learning outcomes in the arts, social studies, history, cultural literacy, character development, and social-emotional learning.
